Meet the Advanturers

Hello, we are the Hammonds, an outdoor and adventure loving family, blessed to call Cornwall "home". We  feel privileged to be bringing up our family in this wonderful part of the world and we love to explore all that this beautiful Duchy has to offer! We live by the motto "there's no such thing as bad weather, you just need the right clothing", and our young explorers, Idris and Ernest, are very much believers in the family ethos!

The four of us take so much pleasure from the outdoor lifestyle, and typically in winter will be found in waterproofs and wellies, or for the grown ups - wetsuits (or not!) and Dryrobes. As soon as the days start to warm up, wellies are discarded in favour of flip flops, but not much else changes, aside from the shedding of the warm woolly layers!

Year round there will be beach trips and sea swims, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, coastal path stomps, muddy woodland adventures, local farm visits (our favourite local farms are Roskilly's for ice cream and Trevaskis for fruit picking (plus delicious puddings from the restaurant!) , and of course, adVANtures in our beloved Morvoren (or under canvas when it's not winter!) to visit cherished favourite places (such as Bude and Porthcurno), or to explore and discover new locations, which has the added bonus for you, the holiday maker - as we will be delighted to give tailored suggestions and tips for places to visit, based on your requirements and interests. We know where the dog friendly pubs are, the child friendly beaches, best places to launch a kayak or SUP... you get the picture.

Chief adVANturer

The organised and practical one, Mrs Kernow adVANtures loves a list. Whether in a campervan, or under canvas, she sees no reason to slum it, and likes the creature comforts in life. Camping with Harriet will always involve cushions and blankets, good food and plenty of provisions to keep little ones entertained. She is not a fan of a midnight wild wee, and one of her favourite purchases for Morvoren is the Porta-potti!

For Harriet, Morvoren's best feature is the adjustable seat bed, as you can put the top section into a 45 degree recline position - absolutely perfect for a lazy morning brew with a view.

Her favourite spot in Cornwall - ooooh, its a tough call- but probably Sandymouth Bay, near Bude, which holds a lifetime of happy holiday memories.
